Steep ground, covered from the bottom of the bank.
Cut banks beside new drives and shop buildings, slopes above a road, and the steep side of a new lot are the hardest ground to grass. Sod slides, seed washes off, and you cannot get a mower on it.
We spray those banks from the truck with seed and mulch that sticks to the slope, then add straw mat where the grade is steep enough to need it. Clay that washed into the drive after every storm starts to hold.
We have stabilized banks along gravel drives and metal buildings, roadside slopes on busy state roads, and steep lot edges on new home sites across Habersham County.

Can you seed a bank too steep to mow?
Yes. That is where hydroseeding shines. We spray it from the truck and add straw mat on the steepest sections.
Will the seed wash off?
The mulch binds the seed to the slope. On steep or high-flow banks we add straw mat or silt fence to hold it through the first storms.
